Chapter 1 General Provisions

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of these Terms is to set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of Ghrive (the “Company”) and Members in connection with the use of the mobile application “Dotmong” and its related services (the “Service”) provided by the Company.

Article 2 (Definitions)

1. “Member” means a person who has agreed to these Terms, entered into a use agreement with the Company, and uses the Service.
2. “External Account” means the Kakao, Apple or Google account that a Member uses to log in.
3. “Dot Character” means the dot images and motion frames, and their derivatives, created with generative artificial intelligence based on the pet photos registered by a Member. On the Service screens, it is shown as “Dotmong” or by the name the Member has given it.
4. “Member Content” means materials a Member has registered with the Service, such as pet photos, letters (records such as text and photos written by the Member) and pet information.
5. “Company Content” means materials created by the Company or to which the Company holds rights, such as the Service’s screens, designs, props, backgrounds, motion templates, wording and programs.
6. “Gems” means in-Service currency that a Member purchases for a fee through an App Market.
7. “Stardust” means in-Service currency with no monetary value that the Company grants free of charge as a result of using the Service, such as writing a letter or a return from a walk.
8. “Items” means in-Service digital content, such as costumes, decorations and food, that is purchased with Gems or Stardust or granted as a result of using the Service.
9. “App Market” means a business, such as the Apple App Store or Google Play, that distributes applications and processes payments on behalf of others.
10. “Memorial Mode” means a state of a Dot Character that a Member chooses after their pet has passed away, in which records continue in the manner set out in Article 13. Terms not defined in these Terms follow the relevant laws and the Service guides.

Article 3 (Posting, Explanation and Amendment of the Terms)

1. The Company will post these Terms on a screen within the Service so that Members can easily check them.
2. Before a Member agrees to the Terms, the Company will inform the Member of matters important to Members, such as limits on withdrawal of offer, the expiry of currency and the destruction of records upon withdrawal from membership, on a separate screen or with emphasis so that the Member can understand them.
3. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate the relevant laws.
4. If the Company amends the Terms, it will post a notice within the Service, stating the effective date and the reason for the amendment, together with the Terms before the amendment, from 7 days before the effective date. However, if the change is unfavorable to Members or material, the Company will post the notice from 30 days before the effective date, show a comparison of the content before and after the amendment, and notify each Member individually by the email address the Member registered or by an in-Service notification.
